We’re migrating our clients to 'Google Analytics 4' free of charge!

by  Angela Watt on  27/02/2023

You’ll be pleased to hear we’re currently migrating all our clients from Universal Analytics to Google Analytics 4 - free of charge.

We’ve started the migration process for existing clients, and many have already been completed. If we have full admin rights on your Google Analytics account, we are doing this automatically on your behalf. This means that GA4 tracking will run in parallel with the existing UA tracking, recording data for both.

We're switching clients across sooner so they have at least some historic data when UA stops working in July. While it's not possible to migrate historic data from UA to GA4, we want to ensure that our clients have as much historical data as possible to benefit from the new tracking system.

If you have not received an email from us regarding the switch, it means we have full admin rights to your Google Analytics account and are taking care of the migration. However, if you've received an email from us and you have not taken any action, please respond promptly so that we can ensure that your GA4 account will have as much historical data as possible.

What are the advantages of GA4?

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) offers several advantages over Universal Analytics (UA):

•    Advanced insights: GA4 provides advanced insights and analysis capabilities, including machine learning models, predictive metrics, and cross-device and cross-platform tracking.
•    Event-based tracking: GA4 uses event-based tracking, which means you can track interactions and actions that were not previously possible with UA, such as scroll depth, video engagement, and file downloads.
•    Improved data accuracy: GA4 offers better data accuracy through data modelling and measurement enhancements.
•    Future-proofing: GA4 is designed to adapt to changes in privacy laws and evolving technology, making it a future-proof solution for digital analytics.
•    User-centric approach: GA4 offers a more user-centric approach to data tracking, focusing on individual users' interactions across devices and platforms, rather than sessions and pageviews.

If you have any questions or concerns about the switch to Google Analytics 4, please contact us. We're always here to help!
