David Dwyer

Founder

David is the founder and visionary behind Inspire, constantly pushing boundaries and steering the company towards new heights. He’s the one ensuring the Company Values of Integrity, Ingenuity and Passion are understood and followed, that Governance is applied and obstacles that prevent us from delivering World Class service are removed or managed.

Always available to support our clients and the inspire team, he ensures we keep the big picture in focus, ensuring our goals are clear and understood, whether he’s consulting on client AI projects, speaking at or attending key industry conferences or fulfilling his duties as a Director of Fife Chamber of Commerce.

What with 6 years in academia, 7 years in Sales and Marketing, and over 20 years David across all IT disciplines, he can also claim a 42 year apprenticeship in Artificial Intelligence going back to 1983, he is a rare blend of the practical, pragmatic, strategic, tech-savvy and marketing guru you need on your team.

He’s also got a background with Heineken UK and Aviva, so he knows a thing or two about growth and quality.

Whilst many are nowadays keen to jump on the AI Bandwagon, in 1983 David was building prediction models for Tri-Cast bets (defn: predicting first three dog traps to finish in a race) using XpertRule, an early form of AI for Greyhound racing at the dog tracks in Scotland, notably Shawfield, Glasgow and Powderhall, Edinburgh. In 1994 he studied Operational Research at University of Paisley and then in 2002 he completed his MSc IT with AI at Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh.

When it comes to making sense of the whole picture, pulling together all the spinning plates and then navigating a path towards delivering success, David is your guy.

Outside of work, David's idea of fun includes spending time with his girls, watching football, eating out and going to the theatre.

Martin J Smith

Head Of Development

I’m Head of Development at Inspire, managing the development team and taking overall responsibility for project work and live support. In plain terms, I make sure the right work gets done by the right people, in the right order - and that clients get the help they need when things shift or something breaks.

Before Inspire, I built up around 15 years’ agency experience, spending most of that time as a Project Manager. That background means I’m used to juggling a lot of moving parts at once, keeping projects on track, and staying calm when there’s pressure to deliver quickly.

What I’m known for is keeping multiple projects progressing in parallel, simplifying complex requirements into something practical, and focusing on what actually resolves an issue rather than adding noise. Day to day, I’m scheduling and prioritising work for the team, overseeing ongoing builds, helping unblock difficult live issues, and supporting the team with guidance and decisions.

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me on a padel court (a few times a week). I live in Malta, work remotely, and I’ve got three cats - plus I feed another ten strays every day.

Senior Visibility Manager

Simon leads the Visibility team at Inspire, working across client strategy, websites and performance marketing to drive meaningful commercial growth. He focuses on cutting through complexity and turning digital activity into clear, practical outcomes that deliver results.

With over 35 years’ experience across the creative and marketing sectors, he has worked with ambitious startups through to established blue-chip brands. That breadth across industries, challenges and teams is what keeps the work both varied and interesting.

His experience also includes sports and consumer brands operating at scale, with large digital audiences and complex multi-channel visibility challenges.

Outside of work, Simon is an avid sports and fitness fan and has been training in his home gym for as long as he’s worked in the industry. He is a season ticket holder at Newcastle United and a lifelong football supporter. Family time is important, and he makes a conscious effort to balance screen-heavy work with getting outdoors, staying active, and keeping perspective beyond the day-to-day.

Now, Chris puts his energy into matching businesses with the right digital solutions, ensuring they get the tools, strategies, and support they need to grow. He’s the bridge between ideas and execution, helping clients turn digital goals into reality.

Away from work, you’ll find Chris on the tennis court or making the most of family time—unless, of course, he’s deep in conversation about the latest trends in tech and digital strategy.

Iain Venn

Project Manager

Iain Venn

Project Manager

I’m a Web Project Manager at Inspire. I project manage website work, provide day-to-day support to clients, support the sales and tender process, and help clients get more value from their website and digital marketing.

Before Inspire, I spent 10+ years as a freelance WordPress Developer and SEO/PPC consultant, alongside 10 years’ management experience across retail and print production. I’ve also got PRINCE2 project management experience across aerospace and digital services, which has helped me bring structure to delivery without making it bureaucratic.

Where I add most value is turning a messy set of needs into a clear plan, keeping stakeholders aligned, and making sure we’re measuring the right things so progress is real, not vague. Most weeks I’m balancing client priorities, liaising with development and visibility teams, pricing up project work, supporting tenders, and keeping tasks moving through our internal systems.

Away from the day job, I’m into oil painting and charcoal drawing, I write, and I’m happiest walking along the Cornish coastline when I can.

Andy Moreno

Tech Lead

Andy Moreno

Tech Lead

Andy Moreno is Inspire’s Tech Lead, responsible for the technical direction of our backend systems while staying hands-on day to day.

I’m a senior backend developer, shaping architecture decisions, reviewing code quality, and making sure what we build stays maintainable for the long term.

Alongside development, I look after hosting and infrastructure, keep a close eye on server operations, scope and estimate upcoming work, and help hire and grow the technical team. I’m comfortable bridging the gap between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, so everyone understands what’s being built and why.

I’ve been building websites for nearly 35 years, with more than 25 of those spent doing it professionally. Before Inspire, I was Frontend Team Leader at a prominent spread betting firm in London, and I’ve also worked extensively as a freelancer, delivering everything from small business sites to large, complex platforms.

I don’t come from a formal academic background in tech, which has helped me stay focused on practical results and independent thinking. Outside work, I’m a cyclist and make time for at least one week-long cycling trip every year - just don’t expect a short conversation if you ask about bikes, gear, or long days in the saddle!

Joanna Dacles

Joanna Dacles

Support & Quality Control Lead

Joanna Dacles

Support & Quality Control Lead

I’m Inspire’s Support and Quality Control Lead, and I’m usually the first point of contact when a client needs help. In plain English, I keep support running smoothly, make sure issues are handled properly, and help the team stay organised across BAU work and smaller project tasks.

Before Inspire, I worked as a Systems and Admin Manager at an edutech company. I managed the website and internal systems, and I handled customer-facing system issues too - which gave me a strong foundation in practical problem-solving and calm client communication.

I’m at my best when things need coordinated properly - clear updates, clean processes, and a steady hand on support. I handle client comms, project coordination, systems setup and automation, and internal account management, including Microsoft 365 tenant configuration, licensing, email support, and access. A normal week includes reviewing tickets, working through website issues, sending client updates, and checking automations so nothing quietly breaks in the background.

If I’m not on support, I’m usually travelling (or planning the next trip), hanging out with my three cats, watching volleyball, basketball or tennis, or getting stuck into an action-adventure RPG.

Urim Kodra

Urim Kodra

Visibility Account Manager

Urim Kodra

Visibility Account Manager

I’m a Senior Visibility Account Manager at Inspire. I help clients grow organic visibility, traffic, and revenue by building and executing data-led SEO and digital visibility strategies.

I’ve got 8+ years’ experience across SEO and digital marketing, including leading large-scale link-building and content campaigns across SaaS, ecommerce, and service sectors. I’ve also managed multi-market visibility strategies that combine technical SEO, content performance, and authority building - balancing the detail of the work with the bigger commercial picture.

The way I work is performance-led and practical: find what’s holding growth back, prioritise the highest-impact fixes, and report on outcomes that actually matter to the business. A typical week includes reviewing dashboards and keyword movement, aligning SEO activity to business goals, overseeing link acquisition and content optimisation plans, collaborating with development and content teams on technical improvements, and sharing progress in a way that’s clear rather than jargon-heavy.

If you catch me off the clock, I’m probably still testing ranking theories in the wild and turning messy data into clear decisions. If there’s a pattern to spot, I’ll usually find it - and then want to prove it properly.

I’m a Senior Performance Marketing Manager at Inspire. I help service and ecommerce businesses turn SEO and paid traffic into predictable leads and revenue, with a strong focus on conversion and local performance.

Before Inspire, I worked as Head of SEO and a Digital Project Manager, leading comprehensive SEO and multi-channel strategies for US-based firms. That included everything from technical audits and strategy planning through to stakeholder reporting and delivery management.

I’m focused on what moves the needle: tightening up local visibility, improving conversion performance, and turning data into clear next steps. Most weeks I’m optimising Google Business Profiles to improve local rankings, analysing results across SE Ranking, GA4, Google Search Console and Ahrefs, and identifying gaps and opportunities that translate into practical actions.

Away from campaigns and dashboards, I’m a dedicated Manchester United supporter. If I’m not watching or playing football, I’m usually in the gym - or out driving my BMW 3 Series.

Senior Back-end Developer

Nilanjan Mahaparta

Senior Back-end Developer

I’m a Senior Back-end Developer at Inspire. I take responsibility for end-to-end delivery on backend work - from planning and database design through to development and website launch - and I also help keep our tools and services running properly.

I’ve got 15+ years of backend development experience, with a long-term focus on PHP and MySQL. I’ve worked extensively with frameworks like Yii2 and Craft CMS, and I manage the supporting plumbing too - Git, SMTP, DNS, Cloudflare, analytics, SSL and monitoring. I also support clients by resolving live issues and implementing enhancements, which means being comfortable switching between planned delivery and urgent fixes.

The way I work is simple: build things properly, keep them stable, and stay on top of the operational details that most people only notice when they fail. Day to day I’m reviewing client feedback, planning and scheduling work, checking error logs and monitoring reports, and pushing tasks through to completion.

In my own time, I love making traditional folk art called Alpana, collecting coins and currency notes, and wandering through marketplaces to see what I can find.

Senior Back-end Developer

Samir Mallick

Senior Back-end Developer

I’m a Senior Backend Developer at Inspire. I primarily focus on the backend side of Yii2 and other custom websites, and I’m always looking for approaches that improve performance, stability, and value for clients.

Inspire was my first workplace, and I’ve been here for more than 14 years. Over that time I’ve worked across a wide range of projects, with standouts including Hebhomes, Secret Scotland, the RW Bell system, and My Learning Journey. That long run has made me comfortable with both delivery and support, and with how we work as a team when priorities shift.

People tend to rely on me for dependable backend delivery and for spotting issues early. I also support analytics setup, including Google Analytics goals and events. A typical day includes checking emails and OpenProject updates, reviewing Sentry for key sites to catch problems before they grow, and then getting into build and support work. Standups keep the team aligned and the right priorities at the top.

Life outside Inspire is a mix of reading newspapers, watching TV shows and cricket, cycling, and travelling locally during holidays.

Back-end Developer

I’m a Backend Developer at Inspire, focused on Craft CMS builds. I build websites powered by Craft’s CMS, and I integrate third-party APIs using PHP so sites can connect properly with other systems and services.

I’ve got 12 years’ experience as a backend developer across a few different environments: around 1 year in procedural PHP, 2 years using CodeIgniter, 8 years with Laravel, and 3 years working with Craft CMS. That range helps when projects need both a solid core build and practical integration work that just needs to function reliably.

Where I spend most of my time is making sure the backend works cleanly - solid builds, dependable integrations, and no nasty surprises when systems need to talk to each other. Day to day I’m checking emails, reviewing assigned OpenProject tickets, and keeping an eye on Sentry for the sites I handle so issues are caught early.

In the evenings and weekends, you’ll often find me playing guitar, singing, or planning an outdoor trip. If there’s a chance to explore somewhere new, I’m usually up for it.

Back-end Developer

I’m a Backend Developer at Inspire. I work across WordPress and Yii2 development, and from time to time I’ll also support frontend work. In plain terms, I build and maintain client websites, and I help solve customised requirements when WordPress needs something more tailored.

I’ve got 12+ years’ experience in WordPress, 7+ years in the Yii2 framework, and additional experience in custom PHP frameworks and Drupal 7.x. That mix has made me comfortable moving between different stacks depending on what the client site needs.

I’m strongest when there’s a real problem to solve and multiple ways to approach it - I’m practical, delivery-focused, and happy to adapt when priorities change. A normal day starts with reviewing OpenProject tasks, OS tickets, and emails, then building a clear priority list. I work through tasks from high to low, but I’ll switch quickly when something urgent appears, and I try to help teammates where I can. I also document what’s done and what’s still in progress.

Beyond work, I’m into music, movies, cricket, and spending time with childhood friends. I also love detective and thriller stories, and I’m always up for an adventurous tour.

Front-end Developer

Kuladeep Das

Front-end Developer

I’m a Frontend Developer at Inspire. In plain English, I turn designs into clean, responsive frontend builds, and I help maintain and improve the frontend library so we can build consistently across Craft CMS projects.

A big part of my work is translating Figma designs into Craft frontend with styling, transitions, and structure that holds up across devices. I also work on Yii2 frontend development and can step into UI, logo, and other graphic design work when needed.

I started out in freelance graphic design, moved into UI/UX, and then into frontend development. Before joining Inspire in 2022, I worked across a few companies, and I now have 13+ years’ experience that blends design thinking with practical build skills.

What I bring is a mix of design sensitivity and frontend problem-solving - getting the details right without losing sight of usability. Day to day I’m checking tasks, attending standup, working through tickets, and looking for opportunities to improve the Craft frontend codebase.

When I switch off, it’s usually books (fiction and classics), computer games, and tinkering with code - including recoding ebooks to my liking. I also enjoy cycling and outings.

Front-end Developer

I’m a Frontend Developer at Inspire. I work primarily on Craft CMS projects, building Twig templates and shaping frontend architecture so sites look great, load well, and behave properly across devices.

A big part of my day-to-day is working with SCSS/CSS and JavaScript to create structured layouts, add animations where they improve the experience, and make sure everything is responsive on both desktop and mobile. Before Inspire, I spent 5+ years as a frontend developer across different companies and industries, building UIs, dashboards, and landing pages. I also worked as a UI/UX freelancer for around two years, which strengthened the design side of how I build.

I’m happiest when I can take a design and turn it into a frontend build that feels smooth and intentional - not just “working,” but properly finished. Most weeks I’m building from Figma designs, testing responsiveness, adding interactivity, and refactoring JS, CSS, and Twig so the structure stays clean.

When I’m not building frontends, I’m adding to my Gunpla collection, playing guitar and doing cover songs (with a little singing!), getting out on my bike, or travelling to discover new food.

Gillan Ropero

Website Designer and Content Builder

I’m a Website Designer and Content Builder at Inspire. I design and build intuitive, professional, and accessible WordPress websites, helping clients translate their vision into something real and usable.

Before moving into UX design and writing, I worked as a journalist for five years. That background gave me strong instincts for clarity, structure, and saying what matters without overcomplicating it. Over time I shifted into marketing and then user experience work, where I’ve focused heavily on creating websites that feel human, easy to navigate, and accessible to more people.

I’m driven by human-first design - clean journeys, clear microcopy, and accessibility-led decisions that make sites easier for everyone to use. A normal week includes wireframing in Figma, building and improving WordPress sites using Avada and Elementor, meeting with clients and PMs to align on design and timelines, writing microcopy for prototypes and builds, and adding content to Craft CMS and Yii2 websites when needed.

Somehow, outside the screen time, I’m reading (fantasy, horror, dystopian and sci-fi), gaming across a wide mix of genres, crocheting (amigurumis and wearables), and doing strength training and running (against my will). I’ve also got five dogs to keep me busy.

Janine Mayo

Junior Copywriter

I’m a Junior Copywriter at Inspire. I research, write, edit, and refine clear, engaging copy that supports marketing campaigns and keeps brand messaging consistent across channels.

Before Inspire, I built up around four years’ experience as a content writer and strategist, and I also worked as an SEO Assistant team lead. Alongside writing, I’ve developed skills in strategic visual content creation using tools like Canva and Figma, plus website design and layout development using Figma and Framer. That blend helps when content needs to work visually as well as read well.

What I bring is a balance of writing craft and SEO awareness - creating content that’s useful, readable, and aligned to what people are actually searching for. A typical week includes writing and refining blog content, improving page copy for clarity and search performance, and producing visual assets that support campaigns and Google Business Profiles.

When I’m not writing, I’m a beginner Lego collector, and I spend time doing Pilates and yoga. I also love dancing - so if there’s music on, there’s a good chance I’m moving.
