Our Core Team
David’s role within Inspire is to drive the business forward. Apart from a Tuesday morning networking @BNICarnegie he is normally found managing client projects, attending conferences/seminars or writing web articles.
He has a unique background, with nine years’ experience in a range of web and IT roles plus seven years in sales and marketing in a blue-chip FMCG company. Prior to his MSc and founding Inspire, David worked for Scottish Brewers, now Heineken UK, and was for over seven years a successful sales manager. He also worked across the IT and project management functions for Norwich Union, Aviva and RAC-Auto Windscreens, delivering projects in a range of sizes.
David’s academic and professional qualifications include a BA (Hons) in Business Economics (Personnel) from the University of Paisley, an MSc in Information Technology (Systems) from Heriot-Watt University and PRINCE2 Practitioner-level certification. He is also an active member of the British Computer Society.
Martin J SmithHead Of Development
Martin heads up our Development Team and manages client projects.
He has a lot of Business Analysis experience so is generally involved early on in our larger and more complex projects to make sure all requirements are fully explored and documented up front. He then sees them all the way through our development process to launch and provides ongoing support.
Martin manages our development teams and supervises our Account Managers, ensuring everything is on track so that clients' websites exceed their expectations and are delivered on schedule.
Academic qualifications include an MSc Information Technology and a BAcc (Hons) Accountancy.
In his spare time Martin is currently spending too much time planning some home improvements and chasing after his 2 slightly mad cats. He also enjoys playing poker when he gets a chance.
Matthew McDonoughHead Of Marketing
Matthew is Inspire's Head Of Marketing who has experience coordinating marketing activities in Europe and beyond.
Matthew’s role is focused on the formulation of the digital strategy, its implementation for clients and the management of our marketing teams. He regularly attends different networking events and is always happy to connect with new contacts.
Some of his key marketing interests include SEO, CPC & CRO. Out of office hours, Matthew is a very active outdoors person, spending his time mountain biking, snowboarding and climbing, amongst other sports.
Steph BrandOperations Manager
Steph is our Operations Manager taking care of critical business activities including Finance & HR.
Steph is from Dundee and traveled around the world for 8 years’ for various job opportunities. Her travels have taken her to France, Spain, the Middle East and many other places. She re-located back to Scotland to be near her family and settle down. Steph has a background in business development, education and fitness. With her skills and knowledge, Steph makes sure that everything runs smoothly at our Inspire offices.
In her free time, Steph likes to keep fit doing CrossFit. She enjoys the outdoors and loves taking her dog Bonnie on hiking trips. She is also a singer in a cover band called ‘Casio’ and performs all over Scotland at Weddings and events at weekends.
Thomas QuinnBusiness Development Manager
Thomas joined Inspire Digital in 2019 after running his own company, Start Digital, for five years. A former journalist, Thomas spent his 20s chasing stories for local and national newspapers, working with the Mirror for five years.
Following a lengthy and successful freelance journalism career, Thomas took up the challenge of founding his own Glasgow based digital agency. Initially focused on iPad publishing apps, Start Digital quickly morphed into a web and graphic design agency, winning a varied portfolio of clients.
A first-class communicator, Thomas is our business development manager with a focus on developing new business and creating new opportunities for Inspire. He has been a member of BNI Alba in Glasgow for four years and is a member of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce.
Ashwin BakerDigital Marketing Exec
Ashwin is part of our Inspire Digital Marketing Team.
He has a wealth of experience working with international clients and running his own business in the Middle East. His specializations contribute to our SEO activities and he is an adamant believer in constant professional development. Some of his key duties are Spam Investigations, GMB Optimization, SEO Reviews, and Event Marketing.
Ashwin's spare time usually consists of picking heavy things up and putting them back down. He's a keen powerlifter, an avid outdoorsman and loves getting stuck into some DIY in his spare time.
Josephine FrickeProject Coordinator
Josephine started working at Inspire as a Summer Intern responsible for her own project and we were so pleased with her performance she now works within the business part-time.
Josephine is currently in her final year of studying Business and Management at the University of Glasgow, which covers a range of courses including Marketing, Finance, and Entrepreneurship. She is in the process of writing her undergraduate dissertation about the current trend of "Circular Economy".
In her spare time, Josephine enjoys playing American Football in the University Team. When she is not standing on the field herself, she tries to make time to watch her favourite teams and discuss tactics with her friends.
