They might look like SPAM, but an ICANN email shouldn't be ignored

Have you received this type of email message from your registrar, see bottom of the article?

Inspire normally manage our client's domain names however in some instances clients retained that management themselves. Below is an example of one of those received by one of our clients.

If so then you should action it immediately. This is not a spam message but is entirely valid as ICANN seek to gain a greater degree of control over the contact information that is stored for each Domain Name registration.

Other domain name registrars have their own format e.g. GoDaddy's is not that dis-similar but ALL domain registrars will require you to validate the Registrant information.

If we come across any examples of this being used by spammers I'll post again on this topic.

You will have also received this notice if we could not successfully deliver a WHOIS Data Reminder Policy (WDRP) email, or a renewal reminder notice.

If you fail to validate your contact details, the following domain(s) will be suspended in the time frames below.

The following domain names will be suspended in 15 days:

In order to ensure your domain name(s) remain active, you must now click

Your account with Fasthosts will remain active throughout any suspensions and services will continue to be charged according to your contract.
