The Outcome
The new Scone Palace website now reflects the elegance and history of this remarkable landmark. It’s visually striking, easy to navigate, and packed with rich content that brings the Palace’s story to life.
Since launch, the site has seen higher engagement, stronger online bookings, and improved visitor satisfaction. The Palace team can now manage everything in-house, keeping information accurate and up to date without delays.
Visitors can explore events, plan tours, and book stays with ease — all while experiencing the grandeur of Scone Palace from the moment they arrive on the homepage.
For us, working with the Palace team was an honour. Their dedication to preserving history and sharing it with the world inspired every step of the project. The result is a website that doesn’t just showcase a destination — it preserves a legacy and connects more people to one of Scotland’s greatest treasures.
The Brief
Scone Palace needed a complete digital refresh. The goal was to create a website that showcased its rich history, stunning architecture, and wide range of visitor experiences — from events and tours to dining and accommodation.
The challenge was to design a site that felt elegant and timeless while also being easy to use. Visitors had to be able to plan their visit quickly, book tickets or stays with confidence, and learn about the Palace’s story. Behind the scenes, the team needed a CMS that was simple, flexible, and built for regular updates.
Key requirements
What we did
We rebuilt the Scone Palace website from the ground up. The new design opens with a cinematic hero video that instantly draws visitors into the beauty of the Palace and its grounds. We used the Palace’s exceptional photography throughout the site, creating a visual experience that feels rich, elegant, and immersive.
Our focus was on simplicity. We redesigned the navigation so that every page feels clear and purposeful. Visitors can now easily find everything they need — from opening hours and event listings to luxury stays and private tours. The structure makes browsing effortless, whether you’re exploring on desktop, tablet, or mobile.
For flexibility and control, we chose Craft CMS. It allows the Palace team to make changes quickly — adding new pages, updating event details, or publishing news without technical help. This was crucial, as the site needed to stay fresh and relevant throughout the year.
We also made sure the site performed beautifully on mobile. With more than 60% of visitors accessing the website from phones, it was essential to deliver a seamless experience across devices.
