Shopify Developer (Remote)
employment type: FULL TIME
job location: Inspire Perth (Head Office), Perth, PH1 3XQ
range: £DOE / YEAR
Employee can permanently work from home?: Yes
job description:

We’re looking for a Shopify Developer who knows the platform inside and out — not just the code, but the tools, the settings, the SEO, and everything in between. This role is part frontend, part backend, and part operations — perfect for someone who’s comfortable wearing a few different hats and taking full ownership of how a Shopify store runs and grows.

At quiet times when we have no Shopify projects to work with, you will be working on other website platforms such as Wordpress and Craft CMS, so any experience you have in either of these would be an advantage.

We are Inspire Digital

Inspire are a full-service digital agency, established in 2008, looking after private, corporate, public and third sector clients. We are undergoing a period of exciting growth and looking for talented individuals to join our growing team.  Our client base is worldwide and from all sectors, large multi nationals to exciting, independent, and innovative enterprises.

We are one of Scotland’s top digital agencies with a head office in Perth, a design and project hub in Glasgow and satellite offices throughout Scotland.

It’s our purpose to help businesses get online, stay online & profit from being there.

experience requirements:

What you’ll need:

  • Solid experience building and maintaining Shopify stores

  • Strong skills in Liquid templating, HTML, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript

  • A good eye for layout and the ability to bring designs to life in the Shopify environment

  • Confidence managing store settings, apps, and on-platform SEO tools

  • Experience working with Git and keeping codebases organised

  • A self-starter attitude — you're comfortable running with a task from start to finish without hand-holding

  • Excellent communication skills — written and spoken English should be strong

  • Experience working other platforms, eg Wordpress and Craft CMS

responsibilities:

What you’ll do:

  • Build custom themes using Shopify's templating language (Liquid)

  • Translate designs from Figma, Canva, or similar into polished, responsive Shopify storefronts

  • Set up and manage the entire Shopify store — from products and collections to shipping, checkout, and integrations

  • Configure apps, analytics, SEO tools, and other platform features to make the most of what Shopify offers

  • Maintain and version control your code using Git

  • Work with our team (and sometimes clients) to manage updates, improvements, and ongoing performance

  • Own your workflow and time in a 100% remote setup — we trust you to get things done
